POSITION SUMMARY
This position will ensure clinical practice patterns are in compliance with accrediting organizations and providers oversight of other providers. Responsible for providing diagnostic evaluations and conducting medication clinics, meeting the standards of the profession and the agency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Completes initial psychiatric assessments with 5 axis diagnoses in accordance with agency timelines.
• Acts as collaborative physician for APRN’s and provides clinical oversight of all prov. Supervision, oversight, and review of documentation of APRN’s to ensure clinically appropriate service delivery per state regulations
• Provides clinical input as needed to ensure that practice patterns are in compliance with agency defined guidelines and in compliance with credentialing and quality assurance standards.
• Assists the CCO with development of department budgets and standards of performance of medical staff.
• Assists CCO with administrative and personnel issues as they arise.
• Completes medical records and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Reviews diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment plans in collaboration with clients and/or interdisciplinary staff as appropriate.
• Prescribes medications and monitors client’s biological and psychological response. When appropriate, meets with client’s significant other(s), providing education about prescribed medications.
• Provides crisis intervention and evaluation when needed.
• Conducts offsite medication clinics in service area as needed.
• Works with other clinical staff to ensure necessary and appropriate resource linkage.
• Plans, develops, directs and evaluates program activities, including the formulation and interpretation of policy.
• Works in cooperative and problem-solving manner with the Executive team, other agency departments, community agencies, and the Department of Mental Health.
• Participates in state and local medical conferences as deemed necessary by the agency or DMH.
• Represents agency in cooperative, positive manner, identifying and reporting any concerns regarding improvement of the service delivery system.
• Actively contributes to the functioning of the treatment team, informing members of issues impacting care in a succinct and timely manner.
• Consistently meets billable expectations.
• Maintain knowledge of agency technology programs and/or systems needed to do the job and use them effectively.
• Other duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Education/Certifications:
• Medical Doctor required
• Board Certified Preferred
• Licensed in the state of Missouri
• BLS certification required
Experience Required:
• 3 - 5 years of similar position-related experience required.
• 5+ years of similar position-related experience preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health and/or substance use fields preferred.
Required Knowledge:
• Knowledge gained through prior employment and/or education related to targeted health, along with chronic disease processes, especially related to obesity, diabetes, hypertension, COPD/asthma, and heart disease.
Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent phone and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
• Excellent patient/consumer relation skills.
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
